Primary Election ballots are going in the mail today to most Whatcom County registered voters.  Only those voters living in precincts 124, 125, 130, 135, 136, 139-183, 201-269, 301-304, 401, 402, 601-611, 701 and 801 will have a Primary Election.  If a voter isn’t sure whether they will be voting in the Primary, they can log onto www.myvote.wa.gov and click on Voters’ Guide to check, Auditor Debbie Adelstein said.  

Ballots can be returned in an official ballot drop box without postage up until 8:00 pm on Election Day, August 1st.  For ballot drop box locations check the insert enclosed with your ballot, the Local Voters’ Pamphlet, or the Auditor’s website.  If returning your ballot through the mail, a 49-cent stamp is required and the ballot must have a postmark no later than August 1 to be counted.  The USPS now recommends mailing your ballot one week before Election Day.

The Whatcom County Local Voters’ Pamphlet is available to view online at www.myvote.wa.gov or look for it in your mailbox within a few days of receiving your ballot.
