[ARCHIVED] Primary Election Ballots Need to be Returned by August 1

Primary Election Day is Tuesday, August 1.  Ballots can be returned in an official ballot drop box up until 8:00 pm that day.  No postage is needed if you use a drop box, Auditor Debbie Adelstein said.  For ballot drop box locations check the insert enclosed with your ballot, the Local Voters’ Pamphlet, or our website.

If returning your ballot through the mail, a 49-cent stamp is required and the ballot must have a postmark no later than August 1 to be counted.  The USPS now recommends mailing your ballot one week before Election Day.

Not all of Whatcom County is having a Primary Election, Auditor Adelstein said.  Check the website www.vote.wa.gov and see if you are entitled to receive a ballot for this election.  If you should have received a ballot, contact the Election Division of the Auditor’s Office at (360) 778-5102.  Relay calls are gladly accepted.
