[ARCHIVED] Auditor Seeks Committee Against Glacier Fire and Rescue Property Tax Levy

The Auditor’s Office is looking for individuals to serve on a committee to write a statement against a proposed property tax levy submitted by Glacier Fire and Rescue that will be on the November 6 General Election ballot.  The statement against the proposed levy will appear in the Whatcom County Local Voters’ Pamphlet.  The District has appointed a “For” committee who will submit a statement in favor of the proposition.  They have not been able to identify an “Against” Committee.

The Auditor believes it is in the voters’ best interest to have both sides represented.  She is seeking interested individuals for an “Against” committee who will write a statement recommending rejection of the proposition.   Persons interested in submitting a statement against the proposition should contact Debbie Adelstein, County Auditor, at (360) 778-5105, no later than August 7.  A statement against must be submitted by August 13.
