PRESS RELEASE
Whatcom County Parks Small-bore Range at Plantation Rifle Range is Closed
Whatcom County Parks and Recreation is committed to providing safe places for the public to recreate. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Whatcom County Parks & Recreation is closing the indoor and outdoor small-bore shooting range at Plantation Rifle Range until further notice.
While the outdoor high power and trap ranges remain open, all gun rentals are unavailable. Other operational changes include reducing the number of shooting stations and the number of persons allowed to congregate at any one time, as well as, increasing spacing between benches. For example, only two people will be allowed inside the registration area at a time and shooting stations have been reduced to seven benches.
Additionally, class registration has been closed and classes cancelled through May 2
nd.
We are assessing use and operations on a weekly basis to ensure public and employee safety.
