Vaccine Appointments to be Available at Community Vaccination Center on March 27
BELLINGHAM, WA -- The Community Vaccination Center (CVC) located at Bellingham Technical College (BTC) will be open again this Saturday, March 27. The CVC will host two clinics, one in the morning for second doses of the Pfizer vaccine and one in the afternoon for first doses of the Moderna vaccine.
The morning clinic is open by invitation only and is for people who received their first dose of the Pfizer vaccine at the March 6 CVC pilot clinic. The afternoon clinic, held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., is open for anyone needing their first shot. There are a total of 200 appointments available in the afternoon.
Registration for the afternoon clinic begins at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 24, and appointments can be made at prepmod.doh.wa.gov or by phone at (360) 778-6075.
The phone line is intended for people without access to the internet or who need language assistance - please do not call if you can access the internet. It’s much faster to schedule online than over the phone, and the phone service needs to be prioritized for those who can’t schedule online. The Whatcom County Health Department posted a video walkthrough on how to use PrepMod on their website, in English and in Spanish.
Anyone who’s in an eligible phase, currently Phase 1A and 1B Tiers 1-2, can make an appointment. Eligibility can be determined at www.FindYourPhaseWA.com. The clinic is located at 3028 Lindbergh Ave in Bellingham. This is not a drive-up event, and residents are invited to walk, bike or ride the bus to their appointment. The CVC is located along Whatcom Transit Authority’s Route 3 bus line.
To avoid overcrowding, people with an appointment are asked to arrive within five minutes of their appointment time. Those who do arrive earlier are asked to wait in their cars or away from the Vaccination Center building, at least six feet away from others in the area.
The CVC is a collaborative effort between Bellingham Technical College, Unity Care NW, Whatcom County Health Department, Whatcom Unified Command, Family Care Network, PeaceHealth, Sea Mar Community Health Centers, Hoagland Pharmacy, and Whatcom Community College (WCC).
