Two COVID-19 Vaccine Clinics at Community Vaccination Center This Weekend
BELLINGHAM, WA -- The Community Vaccination Center (CVC) will host two COVID-19 vaccination clinics this weekend. The first clinic will be held on Saturday, April 17 and the second clinic will be held on Sunday, April 18, both from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
On Saturday, second doses of the Moderna vaccine will be offered from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Second dose appointments at the Saturday clinic are only available for people who received their first Moderna dose at the CVC, and CVC staff will contact these recipients to schedule an appointment for them at the Saturday clinic. Four hundred initial doses of the Moderna vaccine will be available on Saturday afternoon and 800 initial Moderna doses will be offered on Sunday.
As vaccination eligibility opens up in Washington, anyone older than 16 will be eligible for COVID-19 vaccination after April 15. However, since this weekend’s CVC clinics are offering the Moderna vaccine, only those 18 and older may register for appointments. The only vaccine currently authorized for use by 16-17 year-olds is the Pfizer vaccine.
Registration for both clinics opens at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 14. Appointments can be made at prepmod.doh.wa.gov or by phone at (360) 778-6075. Online scheduling is much faster than scheduling over the phone, but anyone who has difficulty scheduling online due to language barriers or technology barriers is encouraged to call.
Resources are available or those who want more information about scheduling appointments on PrepMod or accessing the CVC clinic site:
Appointments fill up fast, and those who aren’t able to schedule an appointment are encouraged to sign up for the waiting list. Each weekend, several who’ve signed up for CVC clinic waiting lists have been contacted and offered vaccination. The waiting list is located at the bottom of the scheduling page on PrepMod. Only people on the waiting list will be contacted in the event of cancellations or no-shows on clinic day. Anyone without an appointment who shows up and wasn’t called from the waiting list will not be served. This waiting list is for clinic dates only. The CVC does not maintain an ongoing wait list.
Located at Bellingham Technical College (BTC), the CVC is a collaborative effort between BTC, Unity Care NW, Whatcom County Health Department, Whatcom Unified Command, Family Care Network, PeaceHealth, Sea Mar Community Health Centers, Hoagland Pharmacy, and Whatcom Community College (WCC).
