Another Two COVID-19 Vaccine Clinics at Community Vaccination Center This Weekend
BELLINGHAM, WA -- The Community Vaccination Center will host two COVID-19 vaccination clinics this weekend, April 24-25, each running from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Both clinics will offer the Moderna vaccine.
Booster Moderna doses will be provided Saturday morning for people who previously received a first dose at the CVC. An additional 720 appointments will be available Saturday afternoon for first doses of the Moderna vaccine, and 960 first dose appointments will be available on Sunday.
Since only the Moderna vaccine will be offered, this weekend’s CVC clinics are only open to people over the age of 18. The Pfizer vaccine is the only brand that’s currently available to 16-17 year-olds.
Online registration for first-dose appointments at either clinic will open at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 21. Appointments can be made at prepmod.doh.wa.gov or by phone at (360) 778-6075. Online scheduling is much faster than scheduling over the phone, but anyone who has difficulty scheduling online due to language barriers or technology barriers is encouraged to call.
The CVC also offers second-dose appointments to people who have difficulty scheduling a second dose. Anyone who received a first Moderna dose somewhere other than the CVC and wishes to schedule a second-dose appointment should call 360-778-6075 to inquire about second-dose appointments. They must also bring their CDC vaccination card to the appointment with them.
Resources are available or those who want more information about scheduling appointments on PrepMod or accessing the CVC clinic site:
Appointments fill up fast, and those who aren’t able to schedule an appointment are encouraged to sign up for the waiting list. Each weekend, several who’ve signed up for CVC clinic waiting lists have been contacted and offered vaccination. The waiting list is located at the bottom of the scheduling page on PrepMod. Only people on the waiting list will be contacted in the event of cancellations or no-shows on clinic day. Anyone without an appointment who shows up and wasn’t called from the waiting list will not be served. This waiting list is for clinic dates only. The CVC does not maintain an ongoing wait list.
Located at Bellingham Technical College, the CVC is a collaborative effort between BTC, Unity Care NW, Whatcom County Health Department, Whatcom Unified Command, Family Care Network, PeaceHealth, Sea Mar Community Health Centers, Hoagland Pharmacy, and Whatcom Community College (WCC).
