Sinkhole Closes West Shore Drive on Lummi Island

West Shore Drive on Lummi Island has been closed to all traffic at the 2300 block due to a large sinkhole. The road will remain closed until further notice. The issue is largely below the pavement, and the majority of the problem can't be seen from the surface. Whatcom County Public Works, Maintenance and Operations, will determine the cause and initiate a repair.
