Whatcom County Health Department Opens Second Isolation Facility

BELLINGHAM, WA -- Due to the sharp increase in COVID-19 cases and the increased need for isolation and quarantine among vulnerable populations, the Whatcom County Health Department is standing up a second facility for people with COVID-19 who need housing during their isolation period.

The second facility will be at the locker rooms at Civic Field. It will accommodate 25 guests and be staffed by a health care provider under contract to the health department.

As with the original isolation and quarantine facility at Byron Avenue, referrals to the new isolation facility will be made by public health nurses from the Health Department and community partners.
