How do you become a Volunteer Guardian ad Litem (VGAL)?
The first step to becoming a Volunteer GAL is to contact a program Coordinator via phone at 360-778-5531 and request an application. Once you return your completed application you will be contacted to begin the interview process. Those candidates selected will attend a 33 hour volunteer training in Bellingham as well as a program orientation.

After successful completion of these steps you will be ready to take your first case. The only prerequisites for applying are that you are 21 years of age and able to make an 18 month commitment to advocating for abused and neglected children.
