2. Instructions

   Whatcom County’s Septic System Maintenance Rebate Program provides a rebate of up to $200 for septic tank pumping or up to $100 for septic system evaluation or equipment installation. Please note:

   • Rebates are based on actual costs. 
   • All work must be completed by a licensed specialist. 
   • Funding is limited and provided on a first come first serve basis.
4. Before filling out this form make sure you have the following information and documents:
   • The date you completed homeowner training through the Whatcom County Health Department.
   • Your refresher quiz (if you took the homeowner training online, or it’s been more than 3 years since you completed an in-person homeowner workshop).
   • A copy of the invoice for the work for which you are seeking a rebate.

   If you do not have these documents or information you will not be able to complete this application.

8. Eligibility*

   To be eligible you must be able to answer yes to each of the following statements:

   • I own a private residence, with a septic system, in Whatcom County.
   • I have taken a Whatcom County Health Department homeowner training in-person or online.
   • I have completed the refresher quiz*. 

   * The refresher quiz is required for those who took the training online, or for those who attended an in-person workshop 3 or more years ago.

   • The work for which I'm seeking a rebate was
     • Completed by a licensed septic professional, and
     • Was completed within the past year. 
   • I have not received a septic system rebate for this property in the last 3 years.
